Those days. You know the ones we all have every now and then, or to often then we would like to admit. The ones you find yourself looking around at your life and do not understand what is happening. You scroll through social media and another friend is pregnant, married, or got engaged. And your just over here trying to pay rent on time. You find your self having some serious talks with God, “I thought I would be……by now”.
By now I thought the career would take off. That I would be “secure” in my adult life. I maybe would not be single. Or have it “more together”. We all have our own picture painted in our mind of where we should be right now.
I began to think did I paint this picture or did God. Did I put the time stamp and expectations on my life or did He? The answer is I did.
We so often can get caught up in the world of comparison. Losing sight that we all have a unique story and separate timeline. Each one beautifully written with brilliant details. We see the people on the platforms but we often don’t see how long it took them to get there. Or what they sacrificed to be there. You can easily see the success of T.D Jakes or Christine Canes ministry but do we stop to see the journey that got them there.
Read this verse,
Isaiah 43:2, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
When you pray and it seems like you have been forgotten He is with you. When it seems like everyone around you is getting blessed and you are just getting missed He is with you. When it seems like life is passing you by and you can not get a hold of it He is with you.
You are not forgotten. You are not alone. You are exactly where God wants you to be. He sees you and has a plan for your life. Please stop thinking that time is passing you by and that you should just give up hoping for the best to come. Gods timing is perfect and that is not just some cliche words put together that is a promise from the one who put breath in your lungs.
Do not settle for less than what is on the way because you are tired of waiting. Persevere, it can hurt, it can be lonely, and it can seem hopeless. But God restores time, He accelerates promotion, He grants favor where it seemed lost, and makes every affliction turn around for good.
And I know that in these moments many times I don’t want encouragement. I don’t want to read scripture. I want things to finally turn around. I want results. I can not pray another prayer that isn’t being answered. I am mad and feel like time is wasting. BUT I have to power through these fleeting feelings because that is what they are, feelings. It is not truth.
Fight for truth to push out the lies. Do not let these lies stay overnight in your mind. Surrender them and watch them loose their weight. You have far more on your side than against you, that is the truth. Jesus is for YOU. You have not seen your best days yet, they are on the way.
I love you all and am praying for you specifically for strength to keep the joy and peace of the Lord!
