1 Kings 19: 3-5

And Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself traveled on a day’s journey into the wilderness. He sat down under a broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, LORD,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”Then he lay down under the broom tree and fell asleep. Suddenly an angel touched him and said, “Get up and eat.”

It has been heavy on my heart to share this. It might not be for everyone but I know it is for at least one person. I am not sure who you are but life is hitting with some serious blows. Every time you seem to get up the wind knocks you down again. But the most painful part is that no one knows what your going through. You put on your make up you fix your smile and bam the disguise works on everyone around you. But you can not fool yourself!

To make matters worse you are the person that people depend on. You feel as though you HAVE to keep it together that you HAVE to be strong for everyone else. But no one sees you at night, no one sees you in the car fixing that fake smile on. I am sure there are so many people that you can call but you would not even know what to say. You open your mouth to pray but nothing comes out all that you can feel is the overwhelming throbs of your heartache, of your pain, or disappointment.

If this is you and depression and struggle seem to be on the regular open your heart for some encouragement from a stranger. You are not called to be everyone’s hero and you do not have to make it seem you have it all together. Learn from the great Elijah in 1 Kings, he sends his help away! We often do this we send the people we love away. We do not pick up the phone we do not ask for prayer. Do not isolate yourself God has put people around you to help you! Trust me I know this sometimes is the hardest part to let people into your pain, to let people know that you are hurting, that you are a mess. That you can not encourage them because you can not even do it for yourself.

Pain is invisible most of the time but it does not have to stay that way. Let it out, let it go.

Many times in these moments we do not even know what to pray for. We have said all the prayers and nothing has seemed to change. Time and time again, and now you are at a loss of words. You open your mouth to pray to cry out but nothing comes out. Scripture says that in those moments the Spirit himself prays for us . Do not think that you are alone. No matter how hidden your pain is Jesus sees you right where you are. He is fighting for you and loves you so much. You can get through it. Surrender it and open it up !

I love you and will keep you in my prayers! Let me know if you would like a specific prayer I am always here !
