Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. These men had some courage. Not sure if you are familiar with the story. But an evil King was trying to force them to bow and worship him and idols. The three men refused, the king threatened their lives, telling them if they do not they will be swallowed up by the fire. You need to go read this scripture it is so powerful. Then they proceeded to say some ground shaking things, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Mic drop right there. They were actually thrown into the fire and were seen walking around with another person, coming out not even smelling burnt. You must read this story in Daniel 3 if you have not.
I want to encourage you along with myself. In our walk with Jesus that we can be content in knowing His timing is perfect and the He has a plan of good and not evil. That even if He didn’t give us the job, bring back the loved one, stop the aching of your heart, He is STILL worthy to be praised. Even when we can not see our way out and it seems like everything is going up in smoke around us that He is right there with us and we too can come out not even smelling like smoke. When I read this I am amazed at the posture of their heart and their unwavering loyalty to stand firm with God. Where we can pray and say Lord even if my circumstance does not change on the outside I know you are strengthening me in this place. Even though I loved them You have better plans down the road. Even if you are not answering my prayers I TRUST you! Let us pray for this courage this boldness to not just declare the words but live them out. Psalms 34, “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.” Let us live this out daily regardless of what our situation looks like. We walk by faith not sight. I know that many times life can be rough, and things a lot of times do not go the way that we want them to go. That we have been obeying and faithful to God but things seem to get worse. And many times we experience pain maybe at the hands of loved ones or our own hands and it seems to be paralyzing. I want to encourage you because Jesus is in the fire with you. He never falls short on a single one of His promises. He said He will never forsake you, that He is close when you are broken, that He hears when you cry out. These are His words not mine.
So lets praise Him in the storm, fire, or valley. Worship Him when we do not “feel” like it and watch our spirit rise! Praise is one of our mighty weapons. Love you guys! Praying for you!
